About Thomas

Hello!  I am a mixed-media artist who works with gouache, photography, found textures, and digital image manipulation to create collages inspired by the local natural environment.

I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2003 with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art after moving to Sheffield from the beautiful Suffolk coast where I grew up. My weekly walks around Sheffield and the surrounding countryside inspire my art, as does my love of the city, with its rich industrial heritage, fascinating Victorian parks, lush valleys and hidden waterways.

My previous work includes a commission to redesign the Weston Park Museum Supporters' wall in Sheffield, band publicity images, art for posters, websites and postcards, as well as a set of pen and ink illustrations for a soon-to-be-published children's picture book 'Great Uncle Stanley'.

I am currently illustrating a self-written children's picture book called Ivy. I'm also a keen musician, writing, recording, and performing songs with my band  The Sette of Odde Volumes.
